Surge of activity

Hi beautiful

After all the soaking rain this past week, there's a new energy in the garden. Here's some photos of a few little creatures getting on with their lives!

It's all happening in the nature world. So much so, that I've revived my second blog, "Close By". You can find it here. Enjoy!

Weaving some sunshine

Hi beautiful

Spent some time down in Victoria,
a little chilly some days.
Huon Hill, Wodonga, Victoria
Appreciating the warm sunshine,
Wrapping its warmth about me.
Beauty in bloom
Blossoms and bees,
Heralding spring.

Weaving a little sunshine,
For someone special.
Checked plain weave
Weave, weave, weave me the sunshine - Peter, Paul and Mary sing this so well!

Enjoy!

Close by : a walk after rain

Hi beautiful,

Frangipani in bloom
Summertime here in the subtropics brings with it the afternoon storms and rain. Yesterday, we had a lovely downpour. I enjoyed sitting outside, under the umbrella, deeply inhaling the smell and sound of the rain. After a few hours, the rain stopped, the clouds drifted away and the sun shone brightly.

The cooler temperature enticed me out for a walk. As always after such cleansing rain, the world seem to shine a little brighter. I took the opportunity to take photos and recorded some video footage of my walk - a walk close by.

Enjoy this short clip.  Close by : a walk after rain

Jacaranda blooming

Spring greetings!

It's almost October and the jacaranda is starting to pop its beautiful lavender blossoms - a reminder to all students that exams are approaching. Thunderstorms begin to roll through in mid afternoon.
Grey skies a backdrop to jacaranda

This is always an encouraging time of year for me - the days begin to lengthen, temperatures rise to bring the scent of summer.

Low hanging cloud over the east,
Lightning flashes,
Thunder rolls its drum.
Soft muted Sunday afternoon.

Enjoy nature's wonder, wherever you may be.

Love Cara.

Broadwater Parklands

What a lovely surprise discovered one lunch time. Walking south along the Broadwater rather than north I happened upon the delightful life size doll and teddy beat atop the hillside. Here are some snapshots from the walk.

Sunday stroll

A stroll around the Arts Centre revealed delights.

Fig trees spreading broadly
Shady paths winding
St Margaret's Church nestled.

Time is

Time is
but the stream
I go a-fishing in.

I drink at it;
but while I drink,
I see the sandy bottom
and detect how shallow it is.

Its thin current slides away,
but eternity remains.

I would drink deeper;
fish in the sky,
whose bottom is pebbly with stars.

Sunday morning

Clean blue sky
     filtered by palm fronds.
Crisp clean after rain.
Stillness of morning.
Bird chatter sprinkling
    absolute quiet.
